How to Cancel Netflix and Permanently Delete Your Account

Netflix has no Delete account button. Instead you cancel your membership, and Netflix keeps your account (profiles, viewing history, ratings) for about 10 months in case you return. After that it is deleted.
If you want your data deleted sooner, you can ask Netflix directly by emailing its privacy team from the address on your account.

Before you delete
- Download your viewing history at netflix.com/account/getmyinfo or Account > Profiles > Viewing activity.
- Check who bills you — if you pay through a phone carrier, cable provider or app store, cancel there.
- Note extra members on your plan; they lose access too.
- Transfer a profile to a new account if someone wants to keep its history.
How to cancel and delete your Netflix account
- Sign in at netflix.com and open Account from your profile menu.
- Under Membership, select Cancel membership.
- Confirm with Finish cancellation. You can keep watching until the billing period ends.
- To have your data deleted before the 10 months pass, email [email protected] from your account email and ask for your account to be deleted.

What happens after cancelling
Your account becomes inactive at the end of the billing period. If you restart within about 10 months, your profiles, recommendations and history are still there. After that, Netflix deletes the account. Game saves from Netflix Games may also be kept for a limited time.
