How to Permanently Delete Your Tinder Account

Last reviewed: October 2026 · Independent guide, not affiliated with Tinder

Deleting your Tinder account removes your profile, matches and messages. It does not cancel a subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play — you have to cancel that yourself, or you may keep being charged.

If you just want a break, you can pause your account instead so your profile isn’t shown.

At a glance

  • Time required: About 2 minutes
  • Subscriptions: Cancel Plus, Gold or Platinum in the store you paid through
  • What is lost: Profile, matches, messages, Super Likes
  • Alternative: Pause your account to hide your profile

Before you delete

How to delete your Tinder account

  1. Open Tinder and tap your profile icon.
  2. Tap Settings (gear) and scroll to the bottom.
  3. Tap Delete Account.
  4. Tinder may offer to pause instead; choose Delete My Account, select a reason and confirm.

Menus change often. If a button has moved, use the search box in the app's settings or the official help link above.

Pause vs delete

Pausing hides your card from new people while keeping matches and messages. Deleting removes everything. If you log in again with the same phone number or social login after deleting, you create a new account.
