How to Close and Delete Your Etsy Account
Last reviewed: October 2026 · Independent guide, not affiliated with Etsy
Etsy lets buyers and sellers close their account from Account settings. A closed account can be reopened by contacting Etsy, but you can also ask Etsy to delete your personal data permanently through its privacy request process.
Sellers must close their shop and settle their payment account balance first.

Closing vs deleting on Etsy
Closing hides your profile and shop and stops activity, but Etsy keeps your data so the account can be reopened. A deletion request removes your personal data permanently, except what Etsy must retain for legal reasons.
