Deleting your Duolingo account removes your progress, streak, XP, gems and leaderboard history across every course. Duolingo handles deletion through its privacy settings on the web and in the app.
Subscriptions such as Super Duolingo or Duolingo Max aren’t cancelled automatically — cancel them first.

Before you delete
- Cancel Super or Max in the App Store, Google Play or Duolingo web settings.
- Request your data from Duolingo’s privacy settings if you want a copy.
- Remove family plan members if you manage a Family Plan.
How to delete your Duolingo account
- Sign in on duolingo.com and open Settings.
- Go to Privacy settings.
- Choose Delete my data / Delete account.
- Confirm. Duolingo may send a confirmation email to finish the request.

Reset a course instead
If you only want to start fresh in one language, you can remove or reset that course in Settings > Courses instead of deleting your whole account.
