How to Permanently Delete Your Airbnb Account

Last reviewed: October 2026 · Independent guide, not affiliated with Airbnb

Airbnb handles account deletion as a privacy request from your account settings. You can’t delete an account with upcoming reservations or pending payouts, so wrap those up first.

Airbnb also lets you deactivate your account temporarily if you might use it again.

At a glance

  • Time required: About 5 minutes to submit
  • Requirements: No upcoming trips, active listings or pending payouts
  • What is lost: Profile, reviews, messages, trip history, travel credits
  • Alternative: Deactivate your account
