How to Delete Your Google Search History

Google saves searches you make while signed in under Web & App Activity. You can delete them in My Activity, set them to delete automatically, or turn saving off altogether.

This is separate from your browser’s own history. Clearing one does not clear the other, so see our browser history guide too.

Before you delete

• Make sure you’re signed in to the right Google Account.
• Decide on auto-delete so you don’t have to repeat this manually.
• Expect fewer personalised suggestions afterwards.

How to delete Google search history

1. Go to myactivity.google.com (or in the Google app tap your profile picture > Search history).
2. Click Delete above your activity list.
3. Choose Last hour, Last day, All time or Custom range. To limit it to searches, filter by the Search product first.
4. Confirm with Delete. To remove a single search, click the three-dot menu next to it and choose Delete.
5. Optional: under Web & App Activity, set Auto-delete or turn the setting off.

Quick delete in the Google app

In the Google app, tap your profile picture and choose Delete last 15 minutes to remove your most recent searches in one tap.
