How to Permanently Delete Your Snapchat Account

Last reviewed: October 2026 · Independent guide, not affiliated with Snapchat

Snapchat deletes accounts in two stages. When you request deletion the account is deactivated for 30 days: friends can’t reach you, but you can still change your mind by logging in. After 30 days it is permanently deleted.

You can start deletion from the app or the Snapchat accounts website. Save your Memories first — they are deleted with the account.
